Out With the Old

By Annisa Bates

Recently I was gifted with a newer more updated phone . . .

My phone was cracked, out of storage, would continually shut off without warning, it was just plain useless. The practicality of making a call or sending a message was uncertain because the memory was overloaded with junk and many files were outdated...

Once receiving my new device I was astounded at the added options, clearer functions, easier to use apps, clearer sound, and just plain effortless usage.

We, much like an old, outdated phone must delete some files . . . become open-minded to update, moving higher in the LORD than before.

  • "We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." Rom. 6:4 (ESV)

Baggage from the past that hinders our growth.  Upgrade!!!  Ask GOD for wisdom and guidance daily; minister with kindness outside your comfort zone.  Ask for clarity and ability to forgive.

  • "But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Phil. 3:13b-14 (ESV)
  • "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Cor. 5:17 (ESV)

Like that old phone, remember an overloaded, broken vessel will no longer function properly and be able to reach its capability. Like you and me, the former person served her purpose . . . walk in your newness, women of God. Out with the old, and watch GOD do a new thing!

  1. OIUT WITH THE OLD, AND IN WITH THE NEW! Yes, yes, yes! We must continue to grow in the Lord. We cannot use our gifts being stagnate. God has a plan for our lives and He wants to take us somewhere; all so that He will be GLORIFIED! We have to be willing vessels. Ready to be used by the Lord. He wants to take us higher. There is work to be done for the Kingdom of God. Annisa, this is awesome. Thank you so much for sharing! "TO GOD BE THE GLORY!"
